Welcome to Aurora Eastbound Travel blog!

Hello! You’ve found your way to my travel blog. My name is Aurora, and I love traveling in Asia. Recently, I reached a point in my life where I needed to re-evaluate my goals and interests. Traveling and discovering new places has always been a big part of who I am — and that’s exactly why I’m starting this blog.

I’ll focus on slow and sustainable travel, with content aimed at solo female travelers. Here, I hope to share my experiences, insights, and inspiration for those who, like me, love exploring the world on their own terms.

Why I Travel Solo

When I travel alone, I rarely feel lonely. In fact, I enjoy the feeling of being in a faraway place where I don’t know anyone and no one knows me. It’s so refreshing and liberating… I might even be a little addicted to that feeling and style of travel.

Traveling solo gives me the freedom to explore at my own pace, follow my own instincts, and discover places and experiences that truly resonate with me.

My Love for East Asia

Over the last two years, I’ve taken a few 3–4 week trips to South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, and I completely lost my heart to these countries! Through this blog, I’ll share photos and stories from those trips as I plan my next adventure.

For my upcoming journey, I hope to combine all three countries into a longer trip — maybe 3–4 months — to fully immerse myself in the culture, nature, and local life.

My Travel Style

I travel independently. I rarely (if ever) join group tours, preferring to explore on my own terms. If you feel the same, I hope my experiences can offer ideas and inspiration.

I also travel on a low- to mid-budget, while trying to stay as sustainable as possible. I prefer train travel, supporting local producers, and finding affordable, authentic accommodations. I love seeking unbeaten paths and finding joy in small things.

Communicating with locals is important to me, so I try to actively learn the languages of the countries I visit. These small connections often become the most memorable parts of a trip.

Join Me on This Journey

I’m so happy you found your way here. Whether you’re a fellow solo traveler, a slow-travel enthusiast, or simply someone curious about East Asia, I hope you’ll enjoy this journey with me.

I look forward to sharing my stories, tips, and photos, and maybe inspiring your own adventures along the way.
